Description
The Connemara Tour begins with pick-up from Galway, Limerick or Ennis. This is a full-day tour, so it is not suitable for cruise ship passengers unless on an extended port, more than 10 hours. Our drivers escort you along the east side of Lough Corrib, before stopping in the scenic village of Cong.
Many scenes from The Quiet Man were filmed in Cong, so fans of the film can explore set-locations and see all Cong has to offer. Take a stroll through the monastery ruins, or take a visit to Ashford Castle.
A scenic drive through Joyce County’s mountains brings the tour to the village of Leenane, most known for its therapeutic seaweed baths which take place on the shores of Ireland’s only fjord. A harbour cruise of the shore can be arranged in advance before lunch is offered.
Hidden in the valleys of Connemara is the Kylemore Abbey. Get a glimpse of this piece of history, and take Sky Road for optimal photo opportunities along the way as we head towards Cliften. The tour makes a few final stops along the way at The Quiet Man bridge and Celtic Crystal before returning you home.
