Description

Once collected from your pick-up point, The Rings of Kerry Tour takes you on a drive along the dramatic Irish coastlines, where along the way there are plenty of spots to take in some history, enjoy the view or snap a few holiday photos.

Explore the town of Killorglin, which hosts the annual August Puck Fair festival. This colourful town boasts some of the best eateries and independent shops in Ireland, all overseen by the statue of the “King Puck” goat.

The tour continues to Valentina Island, one of Ireland’s most westerly points. Over 150 years ago, the first successful transatlantic telegraph cable was laid between Valentine Island and Heart’s Content in Canada, connecting the Old World with the new World.

Stop off at Derrynane House, the ancestral home of Irish politician and statesmen Daniel O’Connell. Now a museum, Derrynane House is part of a 320-acre national historic park, with the house displaying relics of O’Connell’s life and career.

Finish your Rings of Kerry Tour at Staigue Stone Fort, housed on the Iveragh peninsula in County Kerry. The Staigue Stone Fort is one of the finest examples of an Irish ring fort, dating between the fourth and fifth centuries.
