Jim not only got us to where we wanted to go but he took us to the hall of records and then on a lovely tour. I got an email today letting me know that Jim had taken the information I left on a notepad and went back to the church office (I hadn’t found it) to see if he could get the records for us. Way beyond what I would expect any company to do!
We spent a lovely day around Cork and surrounding areas. John was our driver and he was great! He was a safe driver, gave us lots of info about the area, took us to some photo spots that the big tour buses were not able to do because of narrow streets and time. He was very kind to us and our two young kids and we really enjoyed spending the day on his tour. Thanks John!
We had an exceptional tour with About Cork Taxi Tours and our driver Bob McAuliffe (and pre-tour service with Janice Bent). Pre-tour we exchanged emails with Janice about our interest and she presented a fair price and necessary information about our pick up, vehicle and driver. Bob picked us up at our hotel promptly at 9am and took some time to understand our interests, presented ideas for where we should go based on weather and we set off.
Leave the driving to Bob. What a nice, relaxing way to get around. Bob collected us at our hotel and spent about 8 hours taking us to areas in Cork we wished to visit. He also threw in some places he thought we might be interested in seeing. Bob also suugested a wonderful spot for lunch. He was friendly and knew his way around Cork. Great tour!
We had a day shore excursion scheduled with About Cork Taxi tours and we were set set up in a taxi with John W. as our driver. John is very pasionate and knowledgeable about local history plus he was very accommodating to all our requests as seniors. We did the usual Blarney Castle and Woolen Mills then we let John provide recommendations for the remainder of the day.
The weather was terrible but the tour and our driver made it a great day. We we went to Kinsale, an excellent artisanal fish smokehouse and topped off the day with a tasty visit to Jameson distillery. A very first class operation and easy to book.
We only had a day in Cork and had a few wishlist items. Other tour companies were dismissive and had only set tours. About Cork Taxi Tours came to the rescue. They advised us of what we could fit in the day and get back to the ship in time. All communication was timely, honest and helpful. Maurice, our driver, was amazing and he went above and beyond.
We came in on a cruise ship and our guide was waiting for us. We wanted to see the Blarney Castle and our guide, Maurice, got us to the castle before the ship tour buses showed up. Maurice was very informative and took us to the places we wanted to see. He was very personable and fun. After spending a little time with us he found out some of our interest and added a few stops to the trip.
