Steelers in Ireland 2025: What to Do Beyond the Game (From a Local’s Point of View)

When we first heard the Pittsburgh Steelers were coming to Ireland this September, the whole team here got excited—not just because it’s a big deal, but because we love when visitors get the chance to see more than just our cities. This Steelers Ireland 2025 event is bringing a wave of American fans across the Atlantic, and we think it’s the perfect excuse to turn a football weekend into a full Irish adventure.

American Visitors, Irish Welcomes

We’ve been lucky over the years to meet plenty of American travellers. Many come for big events—weddings, concerts, sometimes even tracing family roots—but one thing we often hear is, “I wish we’d stayed longer” or “We didn’t realize how much there was to see outside Dublin.”

So, if you’re flying over for the game, let me say this: the energy in Dublin is going to be electric. There’ll be jerseys everywhere, the pubs will be lively, and the craic will be mighty.

But if you’ve got a day or two to spare, we’d love to help you see a bit more of what makes Ireland… well, Ireland.

A Few Places We Love to Bring People

After the game, you could head out for a day trip and catch your breath somewhere peaceful. Some fan-favourite spots (and ours too) include:

The Cliffs of Moher – Yes, they’re famous for a reason. On a clear day, the views are unforgettable.

Kilkenny – A small city with medieval charm and great pubs. We usually recommend a walk by the castle and a stop for lunch at Kyteler’s Inn.

Glendalough – Tucked into the Wicklow Mountains, it’s one of our favourite places for a quiet walk. The scenery feels timeless.

Newgrange – If you’re into ancient history, this prehistoric site predates the pyramids. Always a conversation starter on tours.

It Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated

You don’t have to go far, and you don’t have to join a big group tour if that’s not your thing. We do custom tours all the time for couples, families, friend groups—you name it. Sometimes people just want to see a bit of the countryside, stop somewhere for a proper Irish lunch, and be back in time for the evening. If you’re looking for a bit more adventure, check out this travel guide on The Culture Trip, which offers a variety of exciting ideas for exploring Ireland beyond the usual tourist spots.

This trip with the Steelers is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for a lot of fans—and we think your time in Ireland should feel just as special off the field as it does at the game.

So if you’re heading our way, enjoy the football—but don’t miss the chance to explore a little further. We’d be happy to show you around, whether it’s your first time here or your tenth. We hope your Steelers Ireland 2025 trip gives you a reason to come back.
