Sean Egan is a man with amazing talent. His work can be found all around the world.

What is it that makes an Artist special? To be honest I don’t know, and I am the first to admit that I don’t know anything about art, But I do know talent when I see it and Sean Egan is a man with amazing talent. His distinctive work can be found in the White house, The New York fire Service Museum and in Waterford Crystal where he trained as a glass cutter.

Today you will find Sean working away at his studio in the Bishops Palace in Waterford and you can watch him as he takes a blank piece of crystal and turns it into something beautiful.  Sean is a man who lets his work speak for him, he was honoured to be invited to New York by the New York fire Service to walk with them in the New York St. Patricks day parade.

His 9/11 memorial piece is a stunning showpiece of his talent, you will find one of the three pieces in the New York Fire Service Museum another is on display in the house of Waterford crystal and the third is with Sean in his studio. Today his pieces range from Christmas decorations to corporate and state commissions, every year on St. Patricks day the President of the United States is presented with a cut crystal Vase full of Irish shamrock. Sean was commissioned to make the last bowl presented to President Obama and the first presented to President Trump.

To be fair I love his Christmas decorations and at €25 they are an affordable souvenir of your time in ireland.
