What information we collect
We only collect what we need to plan and run your tour.
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number and WhatsApp number.
- Trip details: dates, pickup and drop-off points, hotel or cruise ship, itinerary, number of travellers and their names, luggage, and any special requests.
- Accessibility and health information: for example wheelchair use, mobility needs or dietary requirements, if you choose to tell us so we can plan a safe, comfortable tour.
- Payment information: deposits and balances are paid through our booking platform, WeTravel. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Messages: emails, WhatsApp messages and notes from calls with us and your driver-guide.
- Reviews and photos: if you leave a review or share photos with us.
- Website data: information collected by cookies when you visit our website (see Cookies below).
- You don't have to give us your information, but without your contact and trip details we can't book or run your tour.
If you book for other people, please make sure they are happy for you to share their details with us. Details of travellers under 18 should be provided by a parent or guardian.
How we use your information
Under data protection law (GDPR) we need a legal reason to use your information. Ours are:
- To plan and run your tour (answering enquiries, building your itinerary, taking bookings and payments, setting up a WhatsApp group or text with your driver-guide): to carry out our contract with you.
- To plan for accessibility or health needs you tell us about: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- To keep booking and payment records: to meet our legal and tax obligations.
- To ask for a Google review after your tour: our legitimate interest in hearing feedback and growing our business.
- To improve our website and understand how visitors use it: your consent, given through the cookie banner.
- We don't use automated decision-making or profiling.
We never sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails.
Who we share it with
We share only what each party needs to do their part:
- Your driver-guide: our tours are run by independent local driver-guides. They receive your name, phone number, pickup details, itinerary, group size and any accessibility needs.
- WeTravel: our booking and payment platform, which processes your booking and payment.
- Communication providers: email (Google and Microsoft) and WhatsApp, which we use to talk to you.
- Our website host: Webador, which hosts our website and its contact forms.
- Partners on your itinerary: for example attractions or ferry operators, only where needed to book something for you.
- Authorities: if the law requires it, for example Revenue or An Garda Síochána.
Everyone we share information with must keep it safe and use it only for your tour or the service they provide to us.
Where your information is kept, and for how long
Outside Ireland: some of our providers, such as WeTravel, Google, Microsoft and WhatsApp, may store information outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved by the EU, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it:
- Booking and payment records: 6 years after your tour, as Irish tax law requires.
- Enquiries that don't become a booking: up to 2 years, in case you get back in touch.
- Accessibility and health information: deleted once your tour is finished, unless you ask us to keep it for a future trip.
- WhatsApp groups: we leave and delete the group after your tour.
Keeping it safe: we use password-protected accounts, share details only with the people running your tour, and never store card details ourselves.
